Every day, you are given countless opportunities to move less.
Elevators.
Escalators.
People movers.
Motorized scooters.
Buses.
Cars.
etc.
And then, often times, we make the choice not to move – or to minimize our movement.
Take the grocery store. You fill your cart, bring it to your car and leave it right there in an empty space.
Don’t even bother to walk it back to the store, or to the cart return in the lot.
Seriously.
It’s like an extra 20 feet, 50 perhaps, if you’re at Costco. Yet carts are littered all over most grocery store parking lots – no matter how tiny.
I know. You’ve got an excuse. Wrong shoes. Your feet hurt. You’re “busy”. In a hurry.
Bullshit.
All of it.
You can walk the cart back.
Take the stairs.
Walk the extra 2 blocks, rather than bus it.
Get outside. Get some fresh air.
If you need to wear different shoes, do it.
Move more, not less.
