You can likely list off the major things – like whether or not you believe in God, the President, or Santa Claus. But what about the more subtle beliefs? The every day, run of the mill things that you tell yourself over and over.
These beliefs color your life in ways you can’t even imagine. What do you believe about the homeless guy on the corner? That driver that just cut you off in traffic?Your mother-in-law? Your sister? Your neighbor?Yourself? Your ability to get the job done? To cross the finish line? To get out of bed and get to the gym? To be there when it counts?
These beliefs define your life. They can make or break you.
They affect not only how you treat others, but how you treat yourself.
Seek ’em out. Shine the light, and examine them for truth. Are the beliefs you hold helping or hindering you?
Do they feel good, or not so much? The beautiful thing is that you get to choose.
Let go of those beliefs that aren’t serving you, and replace them with something that does. “It’s what you choose to believe that makes you the person you are.” ― Karen Marie Moning
